Employee’s State Insurance Corporation (ESIC)
The Government introduced Employees State Insurance Corporation Act 1948 with the aim to provide social security and medical facilities to employees and their family members. This Act is applicable to the employees whose monthly gross salary is upto Rs. 21000/-. The fund contributed towards ESIC is being managed by Employees State Insurance Corporation. Registered employees and their family are eligible to get medical assistance at ESI dispensaries, hospitals, clinics and also in major specialist hospitals with referral basis
ESIC Registration is applicable to the establishments having required area and having more than 10 employees. On successful registration, a seventeen digit (17 digit) Unique Identification Code will be allotted. It is the statutory responsibility of the employer to get them registered under this act immediately on achieving the said employee level within 15 days.

- Any payment made at hospital is completely reimbursable.
ESI Contribution
It is the duty of the employer to must made the ESIC contribution for all employees drawing a monthly gross salary of up to Rs.21,000 per month. The employer contribution is 4.75% and employee contribution is 1.75% of the wages. The total contribution made towards ESI Fund will be 6.50% of total monthly gross.
Last date of ESI payment
The due date of ESI payment is 15th of every month.
